Primarily designed to provide ethnic recipes and meals, whether you are looking for an unusual meal, a straightforward meat, fish or poultry meal dish or even a sweet pudding recipe then hopefully you will find it here.

Chicken with Sherry Sauce

A traditional spanish recipe which combines Chicken and sherry. Can be used as a special occasion dish or as a quick(realtively) snack.Serve with Basmati / Long Grain rice or baked potatoes and salad.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • Chicken - 1
  • Olive Oil - 4 tbsp
  • Ham Slices - 100gm
  • Onion - 1
  • Mushrooms - 100gms
  • Sherry - 150 ml
  • bay leaves - 2
  • Salt and Pepper to taste




Method:

In a pan add olive oil and turn the heat on and keep on medium flame. Add chicken and cook until the chicken turns in to golden brown in colour. Once the chicken is fried (and cooked through) add the chopped onions. Fry for 1-2 mins. Add the sliced mushrooms and the ham. Cook for 10 mins.

Add bay leaves and sherry to the pan and once fried for 5 more mins add the salt and pepper to taste. Cook for ½ hour with a lid on. Once the chicken is cooked well. Turn the heat off and Serve.
