Ginger Flapjacks Recipe

Flapjacks are a simple and quick cookie or biscuit recipe to make. This is a baking treat for Ginger flapjacks, but the ginger ingredient can be reduced or even omitted altogether.

Ginger Flapjacks

4oz demerara sugar
1 level teaspoon ground ginger
6 oz butter
8 oz porridge oats
1oz golden syrup

Preheat the oven to 325F. Place the butter, sugar and syrup together in a pan and heat gently until the sugar has melted. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the oats and ginger. Make sure this is well mixed.

Press this mixture into a greased 8inch sponge tin and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Allow to cool then cut into slices, circles(if you have a cutter) or wedges. can be served warm or allowed to cool.

As with all recipes which involve cooking and baking a sensible approach must be taken especially when dealing with warm or hot (temperature) ingredients. If you are unable to take due care, please do not attempt to make any of these recipes. All recipes are tried at your own risk.
