Ground Beef Patties

Ground meat patties are highly popular in the Middle-East, and they are especially popular throughout Israel. Ground meat patties will make for fine dining anywhere, for a special occasion or a casual family dinner.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 onions
  • 2 cups cooking or olive oil
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1/2 kg minced lamb

Recipe Method:

In a large bowl combine flour with salt, pepper and spices. Mix well with water to make a smooth paste. Divide it into 4-6 equal parts and keep on a greased tray for 1 hour.

Fry the minced meat in a pan until it is almost cooked. Add salt, pepper and cumin and let it cool.

Take each piece of dough from the tray, roll it flat, put the cooked meat in the middle and roll the edges forming a elongated roll. Deep fry the rolls in a large pan till they turn golden brown. Remove the excess oil from the rolls with a kitchen paper and serve hot with tomato or cream sauce.

As with all recipes which involve cooking and baking a sensible approach must be taken especially when dealing with warm or hot (temperature) ingredients. If you are unable to take due care, please do not attempt to make any of these recipes. All recipes are tried at your own risk.
