Mas Piyazi

This is a delicious exotic dish made with mung beans, peppercorn-size dark green beans that are very popular in Southern cuisine. Red chile pepper adds incredible hot taste.
For US to UK equivalents see this rough guide

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 5 spring onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup mung beans
  • 1/2 cup parsley
  • 1 tsp crushed chile peppers
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp pomegranate seeds

Method:

Put washed mung beans to the deep pan and add cold water. On medium heat boil the beans for 40 min or until mung beans become soft. Drain and set aside.

In a bowl add the mung beans, sliced onions, parsley, pepper, pomegranate, salt, and lemon juice. Stir well.

Keep this salad in fridge and serve chilled.

As with all recipes which involve cooking and baking a sensible approach must be taken especially when dealing with warm or hot (temperature) ingredients. If you are unable to take due care, please do not attempt to make any of these recipes. All recipes are tried at your own risk.
