Swedish Meat Balls

These are world famous Swedish meatballs made with ground beef, eggs and cream. These meatballs are great with mashed potatoes or in sandwiches.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup light cream
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 7 oz. ground meat
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tbsp. ground allspice
  • 2 tbsp grated yellow onion
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 3 tbsp margarine or butter




Method:

In a bowl combine cream, water and bread crumbs, mix well. Set the bowl aside for 15 min.

Add the meat, allspice, pepper, salt and onions to the breadcrumb mix. Toss well.

Add the egg and blend well and make balls.

Melt the butter in a pan and fry meatballs on low heat till they turn golden brown.

Garnish with chopped onions, lemon wedges and serve hot.
