Pad Thai

Pad Thai is perhaps the best known dish of Thai cuisine, and for good reason. It is a tasty comfort food that is easy to prepare and everybody loves it.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 9 oz rice vermicelli
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 pound porkp
  • 7 garlic cloves
  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • 6 chillies
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups raw shrimp
  • 6 sliced Chinese mushrooms
  • lemon juice or lemon wedges
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • a handful bean sprouts




Method:

Soak the noodles in hot water for 30 min. Drain and set aside.

Heat the oil in a wok and fry onions and garlic until golden. Add chopped chicken and pork, cook for 10 min on low heat. Add the shrimp and fry for another 2 min.

Add mushrooms, chillies, soy sauce, lemon juice, vinegar and mix well. Add the eggs and let set. Stir vigorously and sprinkle bean sprouts on top.

Add soft noodles to the mixture, stir thoroughly and serve hot. Garnish with lemon wedges.
