Spicy Lemon Chicken

The tart flavor of lemon works well with chicken which is best served with rice. Not to be confused with lemon pepper chicken, this recipe for lemon is savory and just so good.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp dry Sherry
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 1 tbs ginger
  • 1/2 kg chicken
  • 3 celery sticks
  • 1/4 kg mushrooms
  • 2 green peppers
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 lemons
  • Coriander to garnish
  • Cooking oil
  • Slices of lemon to garnish




Method:

In a bowl combine ginger, onions, sherry and mix well. Add the chicken and leave the bowl aside for 4-5 hours to marinate.

Heat the oil in a frying pan. Fry the chopped mushrooms, celery, green pepper for 3-4 min. Add the chicken and fry for 5 more min.

Cook for 15-20 min until the chicken is cooked properly.

Add the soy sauce, lemon juice, and cook for 10 min.

Serve hot with rice and garnish with lemon pieces and chopped coriander.
