Japanese Teriyaki Chicken

Teriyaki chicken is a popular Christmas dinner menu in Japan. You can add red chilli paste to add more spicyness.
For US to UK equivalents see this rough guide

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp sake (rice wine)
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Method:

Cut chicken breasts into small chunks. Mix other ingredients in a bowl. Marinate the chicken chunks in the mixture for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.

Heat a pan and pour in vegetable oil. Place the chicken chunks in the pan and fry them on low heat. Stop the heat and add in the sauce that the chicken was marinated in.

Start the heat again and simmer on low heat until the sauce becomes thick.

As with all recipes which involve cooking and baking a sensible approach must be taken especially when dealing with warm or hot (temperature) ingredients. If you are unable to take due care, please do not attempt to make any of these recipes. All recipes are tried at your own risk.
